Meadows 3 – Picture from the old medieval field strip system called The Vile on the cliff top at Rhossili, Gower, South Wales, where the fields are separated by vegetated earthen embankments. Each field has a different combination of wild flowering plants and grasses. In this image the deep pink flowers among the tall grasses belong to Red Campion. I discovered yesterday on their Facebook page that National Trust Gower refer to this area as their ‘hay meadows’, so I am correct in thinking of them that way; I was unsure about that previously.
