On my short excursion into the outside world each day I notice that remnants of last year continue to linger while the new spring vegetation is burgeoning all around. Leaves that fell in autumn have persisted on the ground over winter and are now finally beginning to breakdown. Fragile lacy skeletonised leaves are arranged like delicate white doilies over ground-covering dark green ivy leaves. Observations of small beautiful details like these make me feel more in tune with nature and natural processes. The effect is like taking a deep breath and relaxing. Much needed at the moment.
