When barley ripens, before the heads naturally droop, the long spikes on the seeds stand vertical and tinted at the tips. Capturing the effect of a field of this growing grain is nigh impossible, as even the slightest of wind movements stirs the plants and sends waves of erratic movement across the surface of the field. I always find the waves on these fields to be mesmerising but, as you say, impossible to capture on still photos

There is something about these fields. Time visible in its motion, maybe? Nothing is static. And what beautiful greens and golds.
