Thank you, Mic. I was surprised that I could achieve this effect. I tried it out on other similar subjects and composition but could not get similar results. It seems to have been a magic combination of light and natural colour on this particular occasion that allowed the successful digital transformation of these shell pictures.

Thank you, John. I thought the result was quite painterly, too. Something like a pen and ink with colour wash, perhaps? I enjoy looking for artistic possibilities in my photographs.
