A Post from the Past [2009]
An unintentional abstract artwork sometimes occurs when the artists who come to paint the lovely views at Ringstead Bay in Dorset discard their painting materials at the end of the day. The natural orange colour of the flints and the blue-grey of the limestone pebbles on the seashore are augmented by the patterned rags, oil or watercolour paints, and waste turps and rinse-water from the day’s work.

Yes, it’s funny to think of someone immortalising the beautiful beachscape in a painting while simultaneously despoiling it.
