Thank you, Steve. I have been interested in natural textures and patterns for a long time and try to understand how they are created. The chemistry, physics, and mathematics of it all is generally beyond my personal grasp. Nevertheless, there are many academics researching these aspects of our wonderful and natural world. Some of my sand pattern images have been used to develop computer programs at MIT to interpret the patterns found on Mars, and other images to understand seabed sediment formations here on earth.
I will look more carefully now when I see rust. The colours are what I like.
