  2. Your most recent Textures posts are really nice. I don’t know how I missed them! Some of the sand posts are so interesting! You’ve got a great collection going back a while. I could learn a lot by taking a more thorough look. Thanks!

  3. Thank you, Steve. I have been interested in natural textures and patterns for a long time and try to understand how they are created. The chemistry, physics, and mathematics of it all is generally beyond my personal grasp. Nevertheless, there are many academics researching these aspects of our wonderful and natural world. Some of my sand pattern images have been used to develop computer programs at MIT to interpret the patterns found on Mars, and other images to understand seabed sediment formations here on earth.
