Water & Sand 1-6 SBJCD These close-up images show the magnifying and distorting effect of very shallow clear tidal water gently washing over clean sand at Studland Beach on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. Light is reflected on the top of each shallow ripple and you can see individual sand grains if you click the pictures to enlarge. Old photos taken way back in 2016.
I know I’ve ‘liked’ these before, but I’m doing so again. These sand photos are some of your best work. Closely observed and technically excellent they produce a perfect balance between abstraction and representation. Congratulations.

Thank you, Hamish for your generous comment. I continue to struggle and never quite manage to capture exactly what my eye perceives. Nevertheless, occasionally I get somewhere near where I want to be with a shot.
