Even after Storm Arwen, some leaves and keys continue to cling to the trees – like these silhouetted sycamore leaves in Charlton Down Village, 3 December 2021.
It seems to me that sycamore leaves are unusually tenacious.

I think you are right, Claudia, along with most oaks and some beech, although sometimes leaf retention seems to be an individual tree sort of thing.

I’m late to weigh in, but want to tell you that I love the third photo! Looking at the first and second photos again, I see hints of what is to come in the third. In Ohio, USA, our beech and oak leaves hang on, too, but the sycamore leaves don’t as much. I don’t think they are the same species as yours. Ours has larger leaves, I think, and a different shape.
