At Studland on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset the natural habitats transition from the sand of the beach and dunes through heathland to wet woodlands and freshwater lakes. This is the second in a series of images showing what the countryside looked like on a walk on 6 September 2021. There was a lot of bracken in the woods and on the fringes of it. It was just beginning to change from the bright green to russet tones that glowed in the bright sunshine.
