Wild flowering summer grasses in a Dorset field

Daily Walk in Difficult Times 71

Some more pictures of the wonderful grasses to be seen in the field through which one of the footpaths lead between my village of Charlton Down and the next village to the south, Charminster. In other parts of the surrounding area, the long grass is being mown for hay or silage. I saw trailers full of cut grass being pulled by tractors along the road yesterday evening. It is probably not worth making hay from this particular field because of all the unwelcome thistles and other plants that also grow there.
