A single picture today of a metallic green beetle (Oedemera nobilis) eating pollen in the centre of a Dog Rose in The Meadow grounds at Charlton Down. This was one of several such beetles on the flowers, There were males and females. This is a male and is characterised by big femurs – which give it the common names of Thick-legged Flower Beetle or Swollen-thighed Beetle.
Outstanding shot. Thank you for sharing.

There’s so much to like in this photograph, including the beetle himself. Good work!
