A small boat took us downstream on the Mulgrave Rive heading out for a day on Normanby Island, part of the Frankland Island Group off the Queensland coast. Travelling out in the bright sunny morning full of anticipation; then back in the early evening as dusk was falling, and the scene looked altogether more mellow and mysterious. The bankside mangroves contrasted with the haze-shrouded tropical rainforest on the hills behind, and the water surface, had changed from a rich green or blue to something sparkling but sombre.
