If you look at some things in a particular way, and use your imagination, they can appear to be a very different subject matter to their actual reality. I call this sort of thing accidental art or found art but the phenomenon is also known as a simulacrum. In this series of photographs I captured some combinations of shapes and colours that reminded me of seascapes or coastal scenes, progressing to increasingly colourful abstract forms. Can you tell what object I was actually photographing? Maybe it is obvious or maybe not. Maybe I am just bonkers.
I say you are not bonkers at all, Jessica! This is my kind of photograph. What a lovely boat hull you have found. I happily look forward to the rest of this series. You might be interested in this work: https://griffinmuseum.org/show/overboard/

I love your abstract seascape Jessica. Is it the side of a boat? It would make a lovely abstract watercolour… !

Love this. Well seen and taken. I’ve also been finding these other worlds, mainly on the hulls of small boats. and I call it ‘the Image Within’, as it’s both an image within another image, and also an image within ones mind/imagination

Thank you, Evelyn. You are correct. It was great fun spotting these abstracts in the boatyard.

Thank you, Judith. It is a detail of a boat hull as you have guessed. I like your way of describing this phenomenon.
