At this time of year I love to see the way that the light transforms the newly opened leaves on the copper beech trees. So many different colours depending on the intensity and direction of light. Such a joy to observe.
Thank you CentralOhioNature. I haven’t been able to roam far from home with my camera in recent months but at least I have been able to enjoy the unfurling of beautiful trees right on my doorstep.
Thank you, Jean. These early leaves soon lose their fringe and become deeper purple and leathery – but still beautiful individually and magnificent on the tree as a whole.
A lovely meditation.

Love the way the close up in the header shows those tiny hairs at the ends of the leaves!
