Yes, Jo, a large magnolia tree in bloom is lovely. These photographs were actually taken in late April a few years ago in Kew Gardens. I wonder what is happening to that tree right now. I can only speculate that it will have been adversely affected by all the icy cold weather this year. Perhaps I can find out.
That is a lovely poem, Peacockpoetryblog. The title “Steel Magnolias” reminded me that in the autumn of last year while at Kew Gardens, there was a sculpture called “Copper in Bloom” by Andy Young which was made of copper pipe stems with china flowers, mimicking a magnolia tree in bloom:

Beautiful photos.😊 At Health garden here in Kristianstad, which contains several gardens, there is a beautiful magnolia grove.

How beautiful! It’s wonderful to see a mature magnolia tree in flower. Hope it’s safe from the frost. Is it in Cornwall?

I am sure that you would find much to enjoy, and more inspiration for your poetry, on a day visit to the wonderful and extensive gardens at Kew.
