1. Oh my ! is that a thorn tree? There were three of those on our back 40 in Minnesota years ago, I respected those trees 😉

2. No, not a thorn tree. It is a close-up of finely branched seaweed (filamentous algae) washed up on the beach. In reality the seaweed is bright green but I have digitally altered the photograph to change the colour and emphasis the interconnecting network of strands.
