Sleeping Serval cat (Leptailurus serval) at London Zoo (1)

These are pictures of a beautiful Serval big cat at London Zoo. It was fast asleep on a very hot day and I was able to capture some shots of its lovely spotted fur coat. It is such a pity that this wonderful creature is endangered because the fur, which is such a great camouflage where it lives in west and east Africa, is in demand by the fur trade. One population in Cape Province has already been entirely wiped out by hunters.
