Yes, in winter storms it’s good to think of warmer weather and burgeoning wildlife.

That looks glorious, I assume there are insects to go with the profusion of flowers?

It was lovely to see the flowers opening but disappointing that I did not see any flying insects at all. It was one of those very quiet, dull, warm, still days and bees and butterflies were nowhere to be seem. I think it would have been very different a few weeks later.

Our own wild flower fields attracted fewer insects than usual last year. I hope 2024 will be better again.
