This is the 21st post about the transition of a piece of waste ground, with an assemblage of mostly wild native plants, into a designated wild garden.

The picture gallery (5) illustrates some of the plant species found in the wild garden in June and early July 2023.

  1. I can hardly believe how many flower species you have found in that plot of land. It amazes me. Isn’t it funny how we now have to figure out that a sheperd’s purse must have the configuration of this part of a plant; when the plant was named I’m sure everyone knew what a shepherd’s purse looked like.

  2. It is amazing. isn’t it. I am sure there are more. I have not attempted to identify the grasses. I have had to view everything from the grass path through the centre of the garden and use the zoom on the camera to capture shots. Not everything was clearly visible at the height of summer.
