During the year 2020 I took photographs of a piece of spare ground in my village as it filled with interesting flowering plants, mostly native species but some escapees from gardens. The area had been something of a dumping ground for garden waste. I did not enter the area as it is privately owned but admired it from an adjacent public area. I did not duck under the fence to get a better view but contented myself with taking many shots with the zoom on my camera. The gallery at the top of the post contains some general views of this waste ground taken at random times of the year. The gallery below has pictures of one of the most obvious plants, Wild Teasel, in various stages of its growth. The potential of this untended area for increasing local biodiversity, while developing access for people to connect with nature, would eventually be realised.

Lovely how life takes over. Joyful!
