This wildlife reserve has been developed in a little over twenty years on the site belonging to a power station where waste used to be dumped. The stretches of water were once the ponds where ash and cooling water from the generating plant were deposited. They are now home to extensive reed beds and lagoons that attract and provide food and nesting places for many types of birds.
