The wheat has been harvested now, later than the barley. Some of the straw lies in rows waiting to be baled. Elsewhere bales are being stacked for transport away. The sky was very blue and hot with fast-moving cloud formations. I climbed a little way up the hill to look out over the rolling fields towards the village which is virtually hidden among the trees. It was an exhilarating midsummer morning walk
