I loved the bright fresh colour and texture of this grass growing wild by the coastal path at Portmahomack on the east coast of Scotland at the beginning of June last summer. The leaves were such a vivid green, and the ripening seed heads on the swaying stems were a contrasting misty blue in the sunlight.
This is lovely to look at, I wonder if that’s because its winter or whether I can almost hear the swoosh of this long grass?

Thank you, Emma. I think I chose to post the pictures as a memory of brighter days. Sights like this raise my spirits and fill me with silent joy, both at the time of capturing the happy moment, and especially later on a dull, damp day like today.
