The purple beech trees are spectacular at any time but in spring, as the leaves first open, the colours are gorgeous glowing reds and golden greens in the warm sunlight.

New beech leaves are spectacular even more so when purple and green are together in a hedge. My favourite leaves are maple especially Field Maple.

Yes, Dick. The colours are fantastic and change as they mature from the first fragile pink in late spring to deep purple in summer. With the maple varieties it is the autumn colours that seem so wonderful.
