Strong Autumn Light

November sun can be bright and strong creating highlighted patches, long dark shadows, and strong contrasts that are visually stunning but difficult to photograph. These are some of my attempts to capture the light effects on yesterday afternoon’s walk in the Dorset countryside.

Thank you, Emma. The strong shadows are perhaps reminiscent of your striking paintings of deserted Brynmill streets in summer.

Lovely pictures! The first photo reminds a little of acacia trees on the savanna in Africa. 🙂

Thank you, John. I liked the way the trees were silhouetted against the skyline – that was on the top of Charminster Down across the valley from the hill on which my village sits.
