Irish Beach Stones
If you are as fascinated by beach stones as I am, you will definitely enjoy looking at the new web site by Noel Tweedie at The 365 Beach Stone Exhibition where he has amassed a great collection of photographs and artwork showing amazing beach stones from the Inishowen area in the north of Ireland. His images reflect the incredible geology of the area.
They are fascinating.

Wonderful pictures! I took a picture of some stones that a friend found on a beach in the Maritimes (either NB or PEI) I can find out. They look like river stones and have white lines through them. I was wondering if you knew the name of them? Any help would be appreciated and I can send a picture if necessary.

Thank you. It can be a bit difficult to identify a stone from just a description or picture but if you wished to send a photo to my e-mail address at winderjssc@aol.com I might be able to suggest something. Information about the exact location in which it was found would be most useful.

Thanks for the reply! Here is the info i got on them: The stones come from Gaspé, along the northeast shore near Forillion National Park.

Hi, suitecitywoman. I have sent you some information by e-mail – actually two e-mails as the first one was sent by accident before completion. The second one has links to documents about the geology and geography of Forillon National Park. Hope this is helpful.
