Thank you, Jo. The main fixed header is an assortment of live Northwest Pacific sea anemones and starfish (called sea stars in the U.S.) photographed in a “touch-pool” in marine aquarium in Oregon – I posted more pictures from the aquarium elsewhere, and I also posted shots taken in the wild on the seashore.
All the other header shots appear randomly with articles when viewed as an individual post and so I would need more details in order to explain.
I’m not sure it was any of those (although they are lovely too!) This was a beautiful flower-like image, close-up, with curving ‘petals’ in mauve and purple, and thinner strands of black. Almost abstract in effect!
Each one beautiful and unique! What is your header pic, by the way? It’s really lovely.

That was a digitally solarised photograph of a succulent plant with “whiskers” on the edges of the leaves.
