This cute sleepy foal was one of a small group of wild ponies in Llangennith. The ponies have owners but are allowed to wander free and graze where they will across the Gower Peninsula. Sheep and cattle often do the same – and these animals mostly feed in the fields, moors and marshes but often saunter along the roads and verges making driving hazardous.
This little foal was one of a small group of mares and their young that were sheltering from the extremes of the wind in a field by the Kings Head Hotel in Llangennith. The foals are particularly vulnerable in this atypical stormy June weather with steep muddy slopes on the coast, and extreme high tides on the marshes.
