Thanks, Angelina. I’ve just been collecting some more interesting images of tree bark patterns from the wet tropical rainforest and the outback in Far Northern Queensland. I’ll be posting them sometime after I get back.

just found your bark photos – very beautiful.
i do want to point out though that Pinus nigra is not stone pine, that is Pinus pinea,
from which are harvested pine nuts.

Thank you for pointing out the mistake, Dominic. It was the Austrian Pine, not the Stone Pine. I don’t know how I typed it up incorrectly because it was clearly labelled in the original photographs. I have corrected it now.

Great collection. Keep on posting more. Nature is a source of ‘unending marvel & joy’! It keeps creating patterns every where – water, land, sky…..
