Tree bark patterns and textures in three types of Cedar: the Deodar Cedar (Cedrus deodar), the Atlas Cedar (Cedrus atlantica), and the Blue Atlas Cedar (Cedrus atlantica ‘Glauca’). All photographed at Kew Royal Botanic Gardens.
Bark can be extremely variable in appearance, between related species, even in the same species, on the same tree, depending on the age and size of an individual tree, its location and the environmental conditions in which it grows.
