Peacock plumage pattern with brightly coloured feathers (1)

A peacock very obligingly settled at my feet one day and preened itself…. offering me a wonderful opportunity to photograph its beautifully patterned and brightly coloured feathers. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed the experience of observing such a fantastic creature at close quarters.

  1. That was, indeed, good of it!

The nearest I’ve been to peacocks is on Brownsea Island – where they made pests of themselves and destroyed their dignity by besieging a picnic.

  2. Yes, the peacocks on Brownsea are a wild bunch. Elsewhere, I have been threatened with attack by a displaying peacock as I tried to take pictures. So this was a rare and wonderful opportunity to admire the amazing plumage.
