Flip flops are the kind of sandal worn by almost everyone almost everywhere. They seem to be the most common kind of lost footwear washed ashore as flotsam. These photographs of flotsam flip flops were all taken on the beach at Rhossili Bay on Gower in South Wales, U.K.

  2. Yes, I see what you mean – natural reflexology sandals rather like those Dr Scholl ones with bumps on the insole. Mind you, barnacles are rather sharp – I think I would simply prefer small pebbles in my shoes to achieve a similar but less damaging effect.
