Just a snapshot of a tangled knot of rusty fish hooks, plastic fish, iridescent lures, and nylon fishing line that washed up as flotsam on the beach. Good job it wasn’t warm enough to go bare-footed!

Line fishing from the beach, quayside or pier is a very popular past-time and loss of fishing tackle in the sea is a common occurrence – with the consequence that these dangerous hooks and barbs often end up on the beach where everyone is playing. Just shows how vigilant you need to be if you are walking around without shoes.
