Happy Christmas to everyone. Charlton Down Nature Area and Community Orchard has been the centre of my attention for the last two years. I am one of a small group of volunteers trying to maximise the biodiversity of the site by eco-friendly interventions to enhance the variety of flora and fauna. These wonderful aerial photographs were taken by one of our volunteers, Garry Prescott, who is making a series of shots to record changes through the seasons and the developments resulting from our activities to enhance the site. The Nature Area with its new pond and the Orchard are on the edge of this Dorset village, seen here looking wintry with a few rare inches of snow back in November this year.
