Oilseed Rape Flowers – There are fields of these bright flowers every Spring in the English countryside. When I was a child, my Father always told me that they were fields of mustard. I accepted that as a fact until well into adulthood. Now I know better. The plants are oilseed rape from the seeds of which edible oil is obtained and added to many products. Whatever, I think they look very beautiful especially when the sky is blue and the sun is shining. They cheer me up.
What a great story and the field is beautiful.

We have many oilseed rape fields in our neck of the woods too. A beautiful sight (and scent). 💛👃🏻

Thank you, Markus. I am glad that I do not have hay fever. The pollen causes an allergic reaction in many people, and the plant is poisonous to some animals.

Yes, it has been discussed that the double-zero varieties, which contain practically no erucic acid and have a very low content of glucosinolates, can cause intoxications in deer and hares. No problems here though: we have more deer and hares than ever before.

Seems the same that deer and hares are flourishing here as well.
