  1. I’ve always liked flint, but following the ‘Sussex Landscape: Chalk, Wood and Water’ I bought the catalogue. In it there’s an essay by Luke Farey on flint. I hadn’t appreciated the complexity of the material and have become a bit obsessed by it. So it’s interesting to see your photos of flint – thank you for posting.

    We just did a blog about beachcombing of the beach behind our house. We have lots of flints there as well. We went to the Jurassic coast for fossil hunting and found beautiful ammonites there. Tracy Chevalier’s book ‘Remarkable Creatures’ inspired us to go there.
