It was midmorning yesterday before the autumnal mist dissipated and the sun came through. A walk in the fields revealed just how many spiders must lurk in the dying vegetation because it seemed as if every surface was festooned with spider webs. Each web and fine filament carried beads of dew glistening in the light.
