Seashells on the beach at Swansea Bay

9 – Millions of seashells had washed ashore at Swansea Bay, South Wales, in August 2017. Most of them were tiny immature cockle shells but there were many other species too, interspersed with pieces of coal and clinker, and burial-blackened periwinkle shells.
