The Lone Shieling 21 – Strange bracket fungus on an old tree at the Lone Shieling site. Old trees are left to decay and fall in this protected 1610 hectare ancient forest which is the largest undisturbed tract of hardwood forest in the Maritimes of Canada. Access is restricted to this single location on the Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia.
