This Emu sighted at Mareeba Wetlands in Queensland, Australia, was definitely a bird with attitude. It walked towards me with a menacing eye as I stood poised with the camera  but, true to genuine naturalist spirit, I continued to take shots until the bird felt it had intimidated me enough and hurried back into the bush where the emu chicks were hiding.

  1. A dragon – maybe. They do actually have smaller dragons in the outback, dragon lizards, and I have photographs of one of them climbing up a tree trunk. I’ll post the pictures later.
