I sometimes find bones on the beach – sheep, seals, dolphins, fish and birds. The bones frequently have flesh still attached so I just photograph them where they lie. I rarely collect them – even though I know how to clean and sterilise them (it was my job once upon a time). The exception is this elegant Gannet skull that I brought home and it now sits in a glass jar on my mantlepiece with some necklace shells and spalted driftwood.
