Just a snapshot of brightly coloured beach huts at Swanage, Dorset, UK – part of the Jurassic Coast. Everyone loves the seaside and enjoys it in their own way. It must be great to have somewhere to change your clothes, store your beach stuff, keep and prepare your picnic, and shelter from the sun or rain if necessary.

Do people rent these for the day or own their own? The colors are wonderful and must brighten the gloomiest seaside day.

Sometimes people own their own beach huts but I think these ones are for hire. You can book ahead of your holiday for the whole stay; or some are usually available for hire on the day.
