There was a profusion of Ribbed Melilot (Melilotus officinalis) with its spikes of yellow flowers growing at the Newport Wetlands when I visited in July. They seemed to prefer locations along the sides of pathways and sometimes were intermingled with purple flowered Tufted Vetch or the tall blades of the grey-green reeds.
