Rocks at Trinity Beach Series 4 – Granite outcrops at the north end of Trinity Beach in Queensland, Australia. Waterworn hummocks of outcropping bedrock protruding from the sand exhibit adjacent differing rock types and textures with some contrasting crystalline veining.
I’ve always loved veined rocks. When I was young I was fascinated by the idea of one type of rock drawn through another, as I saw it.

I don’t think I ever noticed rocks when I was a child; it was mostly plants and flowers. I expect that was because my Father had been a country boy and introduced us to long walks and wild flowers. I studied geology for a while at university, but only became really interested in relatively recent years, motivated by a desire to understand what processes had made the rocks look that way, and find out what they were called. Before that, they were just fascinating things to photograph.
