I don’t think I ever noticed rocks when I was a child; it was mostly plants and flowers. I expect that was because my Father had been a country boy and introduced us to long walks and wild flowers. I studied geology for a while at university, but only became really interested in relatively recent years, motivated by a desire to understand what processes had made the rocks look that way, and find out what they were called. Before that, they were just fascinating things to photograph.
