Whitstable Seashore Shells & Shingle 1 – Rust-stained wooden upright post in a seashore groyne or breakwater on the beach at Whitstable in Kent, England. The top of the post has an iron ring that has oxidised and stained the wood. The timber breakwaters are a major coastal defence mechanism.
