The Lone Shieling 18 – Sugar Maple trees dominate the protected 4000 acres of ancient hardwood forest in the Grande Anse Valley near the Lone Shieling, making up 97% of the forest. Some sugar maple trees are 350 years old. The Lone Shieling site is situated on the Cabot Trail in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Nova Scotia, Canada.
