Studland Water Patterns 2

Patterns of reflected light on water

Studland Water Patterns 2 – Natural patterns of ripples and reflections in shallow sea water at the edge of the beach in Studland Bay, Dorset, England. The natural background colour of the photograph is yellow because the water is clear and flowing over sand; and the sunlight is reflected on the edges of the ripplets and waves creating intricate patterns of white lines. The patterns are most clearly seen in the negative version of the photograph as shown here.
