When I visited Seatown today, the sea was spectacular. Although the weather had not been particularly windy or stormy, the waves were huge and crashing with great force against the pebble bank on the shore. Each new wave increased the white foam till it looked like whipped cream, or the penultimate stage of egg whites beaten for meringues. Here are some pictures of the seafoam being generated by the tremendous energy of the sea. Click on any image to enlarge.
Enjoyed these photographs as well as your description of them as resembling the “penultimate stage of egg whites beaten for meringues.”

Thank you, Linda. Culinary metaphors seem to spring to mind most easily.

Very elemental! It is not hard to imagine what havoc the power of the waves can wreak on the soft clays and mudstones of the cliffs.

Great images Jessica. Four senses engaged I’d say, but probably best you left taste out, despite the culinary metaphors 🙂

Taste was provided by the excellent fish and chips we enjoyed in the Anchor Inn overlooking the beach!
