Just a Common Whelk Shell 4d – Empty Common Whelk shell (Buccinum undatum) with attached calcareous tubes of the marine Polychaete worm Pomatoceros triqueter (also known as “German writing” because the squiggly lines were thought to resemble Gothic script).
