Evening Tide at Rhossili 7 – Large stranded jellyfish brought in by the tide at Rhossili Beach, 2017 hours 28th July 2014, on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales. Originally thought to be Rhizostoma octopus because of its size but later thought to be perhaps a very large specimen of Chrysaora hysoscella because of apparent dark brown radiating lines just visible on the part-concealed umbrella surface.

I saw and photographed (badly) another one on Saturday 14th September 2014 on the same beach. Thanks to your fantastic blog, I now know what it was.
